Special accommodation

When the need for care, safety and security cannot be met at home, special accommodation under the Social Services Act (SoL) may be required.
Our special care homes are staffed around the clock to meet your care and support needs. Health care services up to nurse level are also available around the clock.
When you live in special housing, you rent an apartment that you furnish with your own furniture and miscellaneous items, with the exception of a height-adjustable bed provided by the accommodation. There are communal areas where you can eat or take part in activities, etc. When you move in, you will be assigned a contact person, you will be offered a social alarm and you will be involved in the design of your care.
For everyone living in special housing, an implementation plan is drawn up describing how you want your care to be provided, in order to ensure the quality of the activities.
In order to comply with the Social Services Act and the needs of the elderly, Härnösand municipality has two types of special housing, for the elderly and for people with dementia. Special housing for people with dementia is aimed at those who have been diagnosed with dementia and have a special need for dementia care, for example if you are often anxious.
