The short stay unit

The Short Stay Unit is a temporary accommodation.

The short-stay unit is an activity where nursing staff are available 24 hours a day. A nurse is also available around the clock.

We who work at the Short-Term Unit are the unit manager, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and cleaning staff. We cooperate with the assistance officer.

You can participate in and influence how your care is to be designed. An implementation plan is drawn up for everyone who lives with us for more than five weeks.

The short-term unit has the following specializations:

  • Palliative care place
  • Assessment place
  • Exercise place
  • Respite care
  • Place of safety

Palliative care place

If you have received a palliative care assessment from a doctor, you can apply to stay at the Short Stay Unit. Here, trained staff are available around the clock to meet your need for care and support at the end of life. The care is adapted to your wishes.

Rehabilitation and assessment

You may be granted a place at the Short-Term Care Unit after a hospital stay if necessary. After two weeks, the assistance officer will follow up on what is best for you. This may mean an extended decision for rehabilitation/investigation, an extended decision while waiting for special housing or that you return to your ordinary housing.

It is important to remember that decisions on short-term stays are made by the Assistance Unit.
