Welfare technology

Welfare technology is an umbrella term for technology and digital support that can make it easier for you to live a safe, active, participatory and independent life. Some products and services can be obtained through an assistance decision, others are available for those who need home care and some are available in our special homes. You can also buy some technology yourself.

Technologies for people living at home

Feeling independent and safe in one's own home is one of the many factors that contribute to good health. With the support of digital technologies, the time spent living independently in your own home can be extended.

Keyless locking

If you are granted home care, you will be given a keyless lock. This means that the home care service uses cell phones to unlock your door. This is for your safety and means that only the staff who are supposed to help you can enter your home. Visits are logged and it is possible to see afterwards which staff have visited you and when. Digital key management also means that staff don't have to spend time handling keys and can instead spend more time on care.

Your front door looks exactly the same and you use your regular key. If you no longer need help at home, we remove the keyless lock. The door is restored and looks the same as before.

Safty alarm system

Safty alarms are designed to help you feel safe at home. You can press the alarm if you need help quickly. For example, if you fall or become suddenly ill. You press your alarm button and are connected to an alarm operator you can talk to. If necessary, nursing staff will come to your home. You can use the alarm around the clock.

The alarm does not replace your regular home care visits. There are various accessories that can be installed to complement your alarm button, such as door alarms, motion alarms and bed alarms.

A social alarm does not replace the emergency number 112, which should always be contacted in case of emergency or life-threatening situations.

Safety camera

If you need home care supervision, your visits can be made using a safety camera. This allows home care staff to carry out safety visits without disturbing your sleep.

The frequency and times of the visits are decided in consultation with you. Only authorized staff can connect to the camera.

The security camera is turned on briefly at the agreed time to ensure that all is well.

If the camera shows that you need help, the staff will come to your home to help you. No images are recorded or stored.

Digital purchasing

You will have the opportunity to buy groceries through selected grocery stores. The way it works is that you place an order together with home care staff. You will have the chance to look at the range, take advantage of different offers and be involved before the order is sent digitally. The home care staff will make sure that you get your goods to your home.

Shopping is an assistance-assessed service for those who cannot go to the store themselves to do their shopping.

Technologies for people living in special accomodation

Living in a residential care home often means a high level of support and care needs. In our homes, we use digital technology to increase your independence, security and quality of life. Here you can read about what Härnösand municipality offers in special housing. You can also buy some technology yourself.

Personal medicine cabinet

If the municipality is responsible for your medication management via a decision from your doctor, you will receive a personal medicine cabinet. This means that your medicines are kept in a safe place.

Only authorized staff can unlock your medicine cabinet. The staff have a personal tag that they use and this makes it possible to see who opens the cabinet and at what time.

Keyless locking

The medicine dispenser ensures that you receive your medicines safely and at the right time. Staff from the home care service load the dispenser with your apodosis roll. It then tells you with sound, light and speech when it is time to take your medicines. When you press a button, it dispenses the medicine you need to take. The bag is pre-cut and therefore easy to open.

If, despite the reminders, you miss a medication appointment, the sachet is placed in a locked compartment and an alarm is sent to the home care service.
